Dwight Howard helped the Orlando Magic with 40 points and 14 rebounds as Orlando defeated Cleveland to advance to the NBA Finals. Kobe Bryant and his team advance to the NBA Finals with 35 points and 10 assists in an excellent performance that allowed the LA Lakers to oust the Nuggets in six games with a 119-92 rout.

Number One vs Numero Uno

The promotional and self proclaimed best boxers in the world will fight on July 18, 2009. Floyd Mayweather Jr., the (Number One), zero-loss former pound for pound best and Juan Manuel Marquez (Numero Uno), the 2nd pound for pound boxer to Manny Pacquiao, will dance together in Las Vegas come July 18. Number One vs Numero Uno will be the most controversial fight of this year.

This will be the come back fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr. after two years of hibernating, and Juan Manuel Marquez biggest fight in his career. Floyd Mayweather Jr. ducked two of the best welterweight boxers; Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto, before he accepted the fight with Juan Marquez. Shane Mosley has been calling out his name after he defeated Antonio Margarito. If you could still remember, Floyd Mayweather Jr. refused to fight Margarito, instead he announced his retirement.

Juan Manuel Marquez is a great fighter, his recent demolition of Juan Diaz just proved his age is not a factor to become one of the best boxers in the world. JMM fought two times with the current pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao, although some critics said Juan Manuel Marquez won the last fight, many have agreed that Manny Pacquiao won the fight. Also, do not forget that JMM was knocked down 3 times on their first bout and 1 time on their last.

NYPD Cop shot killed fellow cop in New York

Police! Stop! Drop it! NYPD Cops (Andrew Dunton) yelled to a civilian wearing cop later identified as Omar Edwards. According to reports, Edwards just finished a shift and was walking toward his vehicle when he saw a man trying to break in his car.

The tragedy began just before 10:30 p.m. Thursday when Edwards, who worked out of a Manhattan housing unit, noticed the driver's side window of his car was smashed and spotted Miguel Santiago rooting around inside, according to police reports.

Edwards raced to his car, which was parked on Second Ave. between E. 124th and E. 125th St., and grabbed Santiago. But the suspect managed to slip out of his sweater and escape - with the cop hot on his heels.

At the same time, Dunton and two other officers in an unmarked car saw Edwards running down the street. They made a U-turn and got out. "Police! Stop! Drop it!" two of them yelled, sources said. - Via NYDailyNews

The worst scenario for a 'black cop' is to be mistaken as the suspect and not the victim. Guess what?! The killed cop is a black guy and the one who shot the victim is a white American guy. I believe this tragedy happens from time to time especially if a black cop is just wearing plain clothes and no badge/shield on sight or at least a badge with a lanyard around the neck. It's pretty much racial discrimination, eh. But if we based the facts to the initial situation, it's not racial discrimination but in fact it's just an instinctive reaction.

"If a police officer sees someone with a gun, you don't just fire without asking questions or trying to apprehend the person," said Ricardo Edwards, 72. "If the person was firing at a police officer, I understand."

If you're a cop, what would you do if an unknown man with a gun is chasing another man? Are you going to follow them, and ask them or the guy with a gun to stop, freeze and drop the weapon, am I right? What if he or the unidentified cop turn around with a gun (with his gun drawn) unconsciously thinks that 'the cops won't shoot because he's also a cop'.. What would be your initial reaction, to duck or shoot?

Lessons learned for cops regarding this tragedy, no badge no gun, no uniforms no guns.

Kavya Shivashankar won the 2009 National spelling bee competition in Washington. Kavya correctedly spelled the word Laodicean to win the spelling bee contest. The contest was sponsored by Scripps, the contest was first began in 1925.



Laodicean is pronounced (ley-od-uh-see-uhn) and means lukewarm or indifferent, esp. in religion, as were the early Christians of Laodicea.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. will not fight Manny Pacquiao if ppv buys split

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has the lamest and obvious excuse for a no-fight with the pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao. FMJ won't fight Pacquiao if the ppv buys split is 50/50, he is insisting a 60/40 in favor of him of course. The worst part is this, Manny Pacquiao and Bob Arum will never let that to happen, the current and the real pound for pound king should get the bigger share of the purse. Anyway, let Floyd Mayweather Jr. do the yapping for now, if Juan Manuel Marquez gave him a hard time - worst if he gets KO, then his dreams of a bigger share will remain as a dream forever (I doubt Pacman will fight him if JMM KOed him).

American Idol Season 8 Finale Texts Cheat

It's not only YOU who got surprise when Kris Allen's name was proclaimed as the American Idol season 8 winner, many American Idol fans get stuck on their chairs too. Kris Allen was announced the winner of the competition on May 20, 2009, defeating runner-up Adam Lambert after nearly 100 million votes, the highest recorded vote total in the history of the show. Adam Lambert is one of the highest rated contestants in season 8, Rock group Queen, with whom Lambert performed on the season finale, are said to be considering asking Lambert to be their new frontman. Kris Allen on the other hand is the underdog at the finale.

Here is the texts cheat came from; during the finale night AT&T provided phones for free text-messaging services at two Allen parties in Arkansas on the night of the finals. AT&T reps showed texters on how to power text or to cast 10 votes per text. I think power texting violates the rules of American Idol.

How power texting works:

Must have a cell phone on AT&T. If you don’t have one, you can pick up a Go Phone for about $30 at Target, WalMart, or Best Buy.
Must have unlimited text plan.

Create ten contacts in your cell phone (idol1, idol2, idol3, so-on and so-forth.).

Create a contact group (also known as a distribution list) and name it something like “My American Idol” and add your contacts (idol1, idol2, etc.) to the group. If you don’t know how to do that, check the manual for your phone or go to the AT&T Support Site
Add the voting number for (your chosen idol) (570x) to each of the contacts. At this point (your chosen idol) has two numbers, but you can ONLY text to the FIRST number ((your chosen idol) performance order number). Do this during the show before the voting starts.

At the end of the show, send the message “vote” to your “My American Idol” contact group. This sends the message to the ten contacts at once. It will take a couple of seconds more than sending a single contact.

Now, resend or forward the same message to your contract group over and over for the next two hours.

Note: I'm not sure if this really works, coz I haven't tried it yet.
